I have used the service a couple of times with good success.

I’ll give them a try. I found one on eBay for 215 shipped. Seems like a middle of the road price. I’m planning to rebuild it anyways while I have apart so may go that way. Just need to strip off everything I’m not going to use and get it listed.

I bought an GTP38 used in International T444E from eBay,for my custom stock turbo project.
Those can be found with an 1.0 A/R exhaust housing with no wastegate.

i looked those up. Judging by the eBay listings, I’m not certain that they all have the right compressor outlet. I need to be able to go to the larger SD plenums without adapter boots. I want the least restrictive flow I can get to keep temperatures down. I’ll keep them in my scan, maybe some of them would work.

That sounds like a viable option if the other sources don't pan out.

I see you have mentioned SD plenums a couple of times. Have you looked into the billet inserts for the plenum covers? They are relatively low cost, but provide a good amount of confidence and reliability to the intake system.

Just a thought and keep us updated!

Turbo and pedestal both showed up today. The van plenum and turbo like like they will match right up to the SD engine/intake plenums. Exhaust outlet on the turbo looks like a match for the OBS down pipe. I just need to take the EBPV out and weld the holes up. The Beans flange EBPV delete flange makes it into a SD sized outlet.

thank y’all for the help with this!

I’ll post them up when I have turbo and pedestal and up pipes. That way it’s all fit together.

Doing the EBPV the old fashioned way. I need to use the van outlet to mate with the OBS down pipe. Just need to use a die grinder to clean them up.

Yeah that might be your only option anyway if you need that outlet adapter to mate to an OBS downpipe. Riff-Raff sells a van turbo outlet adapter but it's for super duty downpipes.

I have a SD turbo and Intercooler setup if you want to go that route. Just need to maybe get a drivers manifold, up pipe bolts, and intake plenums.

How’d the conversion to the van turbo go? I have one in my super duty. I don’t really have anything to compare it to as I came from a worn out engine and turbo and put a good engine and rebuilt the van turbo and installed them in my truck. I know I don’t have to worry about egts much unless I’m pulling heavy stuff. I make about 23-24psi. I wish I had put the balanced assembly in when I had it all apart before to get the benefits of the better turbine. It does take a second to spool but once it does it does good.
