Rewiring HELP! Going NUTS

1978 Bronco XLT Ranger NO AC, Auto, 400

Wiring harness is perfect. Previous owners never once cut or spliced the entire harness..
However I have plug in the engine harness drivers side just after firewall. Does not look like it has been used in a log time.

1) This one has a wire that (white wire) traces back to 14 on the instrument cluster, the IVR (inst cluster resistor) I think, its also ohmed to 3 pinouts on the steering shaft plug key on only. The Black wire ohms only to the rear harness plug to middle and rear harness of Bronco.

Found this photo of someone's bronco that actually has this plug. Would have used mine but the whole harness is out of vehicle and the context of location is lost so I used this one.

The plug in the red circle...a white wire and a black wire.

Can someone shed light on what this plug is for and where it goes?

Thanks

Got to thinking.
Maybe the 2 gray connectors are for cruise control that I do not have.
Other connector may be for an AC compressor that I do not have.
Did Ford put these connectors in even if the Bronco was not optioned out to have them?

My 78 does have cruise control, but the connector is not that style. My Dura Spark is now MSD and the only loose plug I have is the male for the Dura Spark module. The AC only uses one lead to power the clutch. There are other plugs up stream of the cruise control that could be part of the circuit. I would imagine that Ford used one harness for these trucks and plug in things in as equipped. Same as today.

All systems worked fine prior to disassembly of the vehicle. Lights, blinker, gauges, etc. Well except the heater blower was HOT WIRED and they bypassed the fusible link and melted the by pass wire. P.O. thought he had a wiring harness issue... It was a large mouse nest in heater box stopping blower motor and caused the hotwired blower motor to melt the power wire.

I guess I am a little **** and want all the plugs to be there for a reason so I can have it perfect. Got'a love WY, CO vehicles no emissions and no rust....well not much, did have a couple areas with rust and was not comfortable with quarters so I will be putting new ones on. Along with rear end gate. P.O. left windows down for a decade and caused minor issues that I have already fixed.

Wiring harness will be completely refurbished and the old brittle connectors will all be replaced with weather pack connectors, and top of the line harness tape. Stupid windshield wiper motor has no wire disconnect. Its wired directly to the wiper switch and direct line to the wiper water squirt motor in engine bay. It killed me but I cut that line and put weather pack connectors on it so if it ever needs replaced I can unhook the connector to swap motor.

I finally figured out what this connector if for.
Its for 4 Speed broncos. Not used in automatics. Basically the reverse lights in a 4 speed.

The plug in the red circle...a white wire and a black wire.

Can someone shed light on what this plug is for and where it goes?
