AGM Battery
Your AGM answers look like you might be able to help. Thanks in advance.Changing from Factory battery (BXT-99RT4-A/ Varta 43Ah 390CCA T4 Case) to AGM Battery (EverStart Platinum AGM Battery, Group H6 (12Volt/70Ah/760CCA)).
Current FORScan settings show the following under the BdyCM module:
· BMS Configuration LIN (Choices are N/A, LIN, and PWM)
· Battery Target State of Charge 120%
· Battery Technology Type AGM (Choices are Flooded and AGM)
· Battery Type Factory Varta 43Ah 390CCA T4 Case
· Battery Type Normal Varta 43Ah 390CCA T4 Case
Note that these settings say AGM even though I’ve looked at the physical battery and it is NOT an AGM battery.
Question #1 – Are these All of the settings that are needed or recommended?
Question #2 – What settings need to change and to what?
For Battery Type (not sure whether to change Factory or Normal or Both), here are the closest choices:
1 – AGM 60Ah 600CCA H6 Case
19 – Varta 70Ah 600CCA H6 Case
35 – Exide 70Ah 600CCA H6 Case
Question #3 – After changing out the battery and then changing the settings above, then I would do the “Battery Monitoring System Reset”, Correct? Anything else?
Question #4 – People talk about a BMS Battery “Days in Service” but I can’t find that setting. Where should I look in FORScan (I’d like to see what it is “now” before changing the battery)?
Question #5 – I have the Varta T4 Battery right now with lots of Deep Sleep and other battery issues. While the car is running, I see battery voltage of 15.0. Is that Good/Bad? [I’m hoping my Bluetooth OBDLink MX+ with iPhone app will let me monitor the battery charge. I’m using the USB OBDLink EX for programming.]
