Steering column interchange
Can you tell me if an automatic non-tilt steering column from a 1978 F100 will work in a 1975 F100? What years will interchange?

My understanding is as long as both truck are the same either manual or power steering the columns should swap.

You don't specify 2wd or 4wd so here are the Master catalog parts #s diagrams. They should point out any
differences in the years you specified 1975 and 1978 fixed auto steering columns.

In the new ZIPTIES N BIAS PLIES video, he road trips to buy a '79 F350 ex-U-haul truck equipped with an NP-435 or other four speed, and drives it home, and you can see that some previous owner had swapped an automatic column in there!

I believe that the 78/79 models moved the Neutral Starter Switch from the steering column to the transmission.

I have a 78 with it on the column, a 79 on the tranny
