Overhaul Plans
the options I’ve been thinking about are
2016 front clip and bed
only down side is the ranch hand won’t bolt on but maybe a skilled welder can help me. However, if I had to give up the ranch hand I’d give up on this option.
for me the biggest pro is the metal is far newer and when looking at the estimated grand total it’s not too much more.
convert doors to power or buy doors already done then bolt on
Option 2
2008-10 bed with
2011-2016 tailgate could not stand the handle getting in the way on the 6.4 450
Keep 7.3 style front w Better parts
convert doors to power or buy doors already done then bolt on
Next option
buy a blown 05-07 ccsb swap the body on
sell the other parts would probably try to keep the 7.3 front XL style bumper. Seems far more robust than the 6.0 bumper could possibly get the overhaul done ultra cheap but not using that as a deciding factor. Could maybe get over the 6.0 bumper or do something different.
cons unsure of the VIN/CAB swap process and procedure need to investigate further.
Final Option
Someone posted you can put the 7.3 in a 05-07 if you change enough parts. I’m unsure on that option as I feel that route would be the hardest and most time consuming. Would say that’s the least likely option but I read it can be done so I will list it.
Interior I am set on the 11-16 seats w the 2011 fold down jump seat and may convert the interior door panels to the same year as the seats. Planning on keeping the 05-07 dash may add digital a/c control
Additionally trying to avoid the truck looking weird from buying parts from a bunch of different trucks. Could possibly be open to wrapping it.
I’m very happy with my truck but in about 50k or so I’d like to do an overhaul including frame paint etc. and without a course of action it won’t happen.
This truck was totaled
KR Upgraded and back on the road
