Hey guys I’m new here and I’ve been having a hard time figuring out what’s going on with my 7.3! So recently I replaced my HPOP due to an oil leak. The day I got it back, the CEL came on for 5min then went off. Couple days later I blew a IC boot the light came on right after obviously. I fixed it, truck running fine but still was throwing the CEL and going off. So I scanned it and got P1248 (boost not detected). I then cleared the code and that’s when it started having a hard time starting when hot and hot sluggish. It starts fine cold. But when starting hot. It takes at least 5 seconds to turn over. It idles a little funny, but no fluctuation with the rpm gauge. The icp sensor has been replaced, ipr valve as well! I’ve checked my fuel bowl for discoloration regarding bad injector o-rings and fuel seems to be fine color wise. I’ve checked my boost tube going to the intake manifold (spider) and it’s in good shape. I’ve checked my boots to IC, on the intake spider, turbo is spinning, no play, and sucking air! And don’t seem to find any leaks. My last place to check I’m thinking is the map sensor, but I’d think if it was bad it’d have a constant CEL and a hard time starting cold or hot. Pls help! Thanks!
Did you disturb any of the fuel system during your hpop swap? Poor performance w/out codes I'd be checking fuel pressure, inspect for leaks, and making sure the fuel pick up isn't sucking any air.

I personally didn’t do the hpop swap, that was the only thing I didn’t do. It was taken to a shop for that. So I’m guessing I should just take it back to them right? I don’t have any other clue on what could be happening. I did notice a solid fuel line going into the fuel bowl not in all the way when installing the ipr. Gut instinct told me to push it in and it went in a little more. (Right below the yellow open/close valve) but didn’t think anything of it
That is the drain tube for the fuel bowl. It snakes around and doen the front cover and dumps to the ground at the front passenger side of engine. On the drivers side of the fuel bowl you'll see 2 hard lines the upper one is return to the tank and lower is feed from tank. They are sealed with basically a short piece of vacuum hose that erode over time and typically need replaced if they're disturbed. On the passenger side of the fuel bowl are 2 feed lines 1 for each cylinder head, both ends of those lines have the same fitting/seal type. I would check the fuel pressure to rule it out. You can use the drain valve as a temp test port by sliding that tube off and sliding on a hose w/ clamp hooked to a 100# gauge. There's a detailed write-up in the tech section at the top of this forum page. I'd recommend getting set up with the forscan app for PC laptop or Android smart device. That way you can easily monitor all engine PID's on the fly, it's an invaluable and necessary diagnostic tool.
