Transmission issues

Did a tranny service on my 14 ecoboost. Dropped pan and filter swap and added 7.5 quarts of Mercon 4. Now the tranny is whining and not going in gear very well. Fluid level is good but not sure of the issue.

Did you use the correct OE filter? They will suck air if the wrong fluid is used and cause extensive damage.

so this is the filter I used originally as this is what is said to fit my truck but I’m pretty confident it’s the wrong one now

That's probably what he meant if looking at it like roman numerals. IV ---- LV or 4 is close to 5 on keyboard mistake.
Did he remember to install the filter to valve body seal if there was one in the kit.

I wonder if the old filter seal stuck inside the valve body and they didn't see it then tried to stab the new filter in place. I've done it my self many moons ago. Causes the same symptoms.
