Ford "As Built" File

My stupid question for the day ....... How do I either view or open my "As Built" file from ford? It won't open in Forscan, and I can't find a program to view it, it has a file extension ".ab" I thought somewhere I had seen to change the file format, I tried to change it to "*.profile" to get forscan to open it but did not like the *. Thanks .....

You need a comparison program like this one CompulsiveCode - AsBuilt Explorer

Thank you ....... How do you open the "As Built" file ".ab" in forscan? Would I need to be connected to the truck before it would open? Without being connected it won't open.

you can copy/paste the data from your AsBuilt while viewing in your browser. Then paste into excel

What are you trying to do that you need to open the an file in ForScan

I recommend reading the up in the forscan threads. Lots of good into including tutorials

I was not able to view the .ab file, but did not try the browser. I changed something and not sure why I am getting an error code about the cameras, even though they are working. I did not make any changes to the camera module. I was trying to open the as built file and try to figure out what happened or to correct the error code. Also in the event I truly have messed up stuff, I want to be able to open it in forscan and write it back to the truck. Some of this stuff makes sense to me but a few things don't.
=== DTC B115E:08-08===
Code: B115E - Camera Module

Additional Fault Symptom:
- Bus Signal/Message Failures

Status:
- Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC
Module: Image Processing Module B

That code is the typical camera module camera failure. There is a TSB on it

To do comparisons like you are describing you will need something like AsBuilt Explorer. (Link above)

Dis you back up the module you made the changes in ?

I did the back up wrong, I think? I plugged in the truck, read it and hit back up all but that more than likely just backed up 1 module ( I get impatient). But I only changed a couple things, like Bambi mode and a couple more but forget now what they were. Everything I did worked, but threw the camera code and a couple times my back up camera was a blue screen. Since I have Factory As Built downloaded I have some reference data to go with, will just require some added time to sort through. Thanks for your input, I made this mess, I'll try to sort it out with the knowledge here for guidance. Last question, Is there a way to load the factory data to forscan and write it back to the truck? Thanks again ...........

No there is no way to load the entire AsBuilt in one swipe. It has to be done by individual modules

If you run into an issue just reach out. Lots of good people here willing to help

Hey everyone, Im new to the forums and excuse me if its already posted else where. I have downloaded ForScan and I'm about to make some changes on my 21 F-250. I have read how important it is to save your factory writing prior to making any changes. How do I save a file with the factory writing. Thanks in advanced
