Changing double honk with ids
So a ford tech I know said he would try to change some settings with the ford ids scan tool he wasn't aware you could change the dpf% with it. My question is are there other setting such as double honk etc that anybody knows of that I can change threw the ids I don't want to use forscan I would rather have dealer do the changes

I don't have push button on my truck but I do have it on my 16 mustang. I have IDS and was unable to disable the honk using IDS as I couldn't find the option in any of the menus. I was able to turn it off very easily using forscan and I would suggest you do the same. this forum will be very helpful if you decide to do so.

Just spend the $80 on the adapter (the software is free) and you can turn off the annoying honk yourself. I've done it on mine...for that mod alone it is worth every penny. You will also be able to read DTC codes for all the individual modules, just like the Ford dealer can...plus more programming.

That said, here is the link to the adapter on Amazon that I bought, recommended to me by Karl4Cat, which is confirmed to be compatible with all functions:
So basically you need three things to use ForScan:
1. An OBD2 bluetooth adapter which plugs into your vehicle and connects to a computer (like the one in the link above, although some other cheaper versions might also work)
2. A laptop computer equipped with Bluetooth and a Windows operating system (although Windows running on Mac BootCamp will work)
3. The free, ForScan software which can be downloaded at this link:
What's new
You will need to join the ForScan forum in order to get a license key to use the "Extended" features of ForScan. The standard version does not allow programming (such as getting rid of the double horn honk, etc). For now, the Extended license is good for 2 months.
Link the Bluetooth adapter to your laptop in the truck (ignition needs to be on), install the software, use the software link button to connect the software to the Bluetooth device, and you're on your way.

Given the odd behavior that did happen to my truck after making this change, it would always be good to have the equipment on hand to revert changes if undesirable results occurred down the road.
