IPR issue?

I am having a no start issue. It builds pressure and then drops it all for some reason. I have tried a different pump which seemed to fix it for a while. Tried 2 different IPRs. Checked all the wiring back to the 42 pin connector on the pcm. Tried a different IDM. If anybody has any other ideas I am at a bit of a loss here.

Could be leaking injectors.

Do you have a graph or data log with a longer segment? If I am reading the graph correctly, ICP reads 600 PSI for a split second?

ICP should be near 2500 PSI or more when trying to start and should be a sustained reading.

Is the new IPR Motorcraft?

What readings do you get with the ICP unplugged?

You could dead head the HPOP to test it even though you said you replaced it already.

You could have a bleed off of pressure somewhere in the HPO system as well.

Messing around with it today it will climb between 600-1000, it fires and then pressure drops off to 30-50 and will not climb again.

The IPR is used spare but came from a running truck.

ICP unplugged reads around 2200 psi, still no start.

This is a fresh rebuild motor so all orings should be good. It was running good until I removed the hpop to replace the gasket as it got pinched during install and was leaking. It did start and run after that until I took it for a drive and it died on me under heavy throttle. I have not been able to get it to run for more than a minute or two since and it appears to be completely random as to when it will fire and continue running.

You may consider dead head testing the HPOP.

Check the connector and wire for the IPR very thoroughly. Because the IPR is from a running truck, I wouldn't suspect the IPR. Although, it is possible it has failed.

You can test the IPR coil, it should be 10.2 - 10.6 ohms. That will not tell you if there is a mechanical failure.

Try putting the IPR back in the other truck to remove it from the list of possible suspects.

ICP at 2200 PSI unplugged is right on the money.
