Well, That did it for my CEL! It's off! I still show a P1876 for the transfer case solenoid. That's my next replacement, then, hopefully all will be good! It really seems to be running better, but then again, I'm several beers in!
Other than that, no more issues.
One last thing. My cruise does not work. The research I did talks about a recall on the switch that my truck did NOT get, but they only go 15 years out which is too late for my truck. Would I be OK using a new switch and wiring harness without the fuses?
I have a new one, but will wait for y'alls opinion before installing it. I could incorporate the fuses in it if that's necessary. For reference sake, the connector has been removed from the switch on the master cylinder. Looks like it's been that way for a while.
PS: You guys are amazing! You will never know how much I appreciate all the info you have given me! I have already saved hundreds, if not thousands on my repairs because of YOU! This forum ROCKS!

Does your speedometer work properly, CC never works at all or it will randomly shut off? Could be the speed sensor in the rear diff or a broken wire to the sensor, like mine was.
I wouldn't go buying a shift solenoid just yet either, I've had that code intermittently the entire time I've owned my truck. 4wd works just fine so I know the solenoid is good. I've chased mine down to a weak short to ground in the transfer case control harness, but no luck finding where yet.
The CC has never worked, because the switch on the master cylinder has been disconnected. The recall was never done on this truck that added the harness with the fuses. I have a new switch, but am leery of putting it in due to the fire hazard involved with a leaking switch. My question is, do you think a modern switch without the fused harness will pose a problem? I'm not sure the new switch will make the CC work, but would like to try it.
Also for your knowledge...
Be extremely careful when purchasing electrical and electronic components for your truck. Stick with Motorcraft components.. Very few exceptions on components. Most China parts stores will have generic items that have improper tolerances and calibrations.
