If artificial hip joints make your daily life better, then strongly consider it. You can always explain to the kids the danger your new joints would face with a misstep while on the ladder!

 

i know quite a few people that have had hips replaced and all said the same thing. .... do it!!!
it is on my to do list.
there are more important things to get done before hips though.
hearing aids, and glasses are already covered, teeth is next. i am hoping the current old and abused stock parts will last till next winter.

 

I know that I'm extremely fortunate to have so many original parts still in working order. My right leg is a mess though. A meniscus tear in the 70s was cleaned up in the 80s, and an ACL tear in the 80s was cleaned up in the 90s. A slip on a boat dock about 10 years ago pulled/stretched/tore something but I've worked to keep the leg strong enough to overcome it. You heal so slowly in your 60s that I really don't want to go through that. Hips don't require anywhere near the recovery effort/time that knees do.

 

left knee was done dec 9 2015. took 6 months to heal and be back in the truck.
right shoulder snapped tendon dec 24 2016, and total rebuild done on feb 7 2017.
that took close to 5 years to heal, and it still is not rite. ..but close enough to limit only minor things.

 

 

If you can warm up each morning, do ya stretches and get thru the day ok thas a blessing. .....
