Keep learning and/or keep smiling. There's nothing worse than a sad old fool....
Ya know just about every time I'm about to "go off" on someone (especially someone considerably younger) I think that to myself---its stopped me many a time from look exactly like one of those.

I'm president of a local bass club and had a problem with a member a couple of months back. He's got a big mouth and I attempted to quieten him so the meeting could commence. He went off on me and I sat there without saying a word. I did stare a hole though him, but when he finally ran out of steam he was the one that looked like the sad, old fool.
Vindication was mine when other members came up to me later and complimented me on how I'd handled it.

Yep---exactly my point! Let 'em run out of steam, endure them just to see if they have a follow-up plan!

You did well IMHO----not to quibble though it would have been "better" had others in the meeting had spoken up in real time. None the less you did a good job letting it simply wear itself out.
