Champion glow plugs

So I was replacing the glow plugs in my 86 Idi and I discovered the previous owner used champion. A couple came out okay and a couple fought me coming out. The last on to come out was missing the very end. It looks like to me it’s been broken off for some time. What do you think is she safe to run? The plug in question didn’t come out as easy as some but I wasn’t ripping on them to pull them out. I used liberal amounts of penetration oil and just worked them out nice and slow. I didn’t hear any cracks that would indicate that I snapped the tip off.

Great those Champions came right out w/o any problems.

When I bought my 86, the plugs did not work. After reading the horrer stories of
plugs being stuck etc...made me nervous about attacking them. So I used the Block
Heater, and if I for got, used the HF heat gun down the intake for a minute, and she
would light right off.

Finally after 4 years I decided to see if one would come out, it did w/o any resistance.
The next 7 also. They were AC plugs with a little bit of soot, and looked new. I guess
the Controller was not working.

I read about the Controllers possibly snapping off trying to unscrew them. At PNP were
3 6.9`s at different times. and removing the Controllers, 2 snapped off and one came
right out. They are aluminum screwing into a steel block and corrosion holds them in
tight.

I decided to then go with the manual set up for activating the plugs, has worked great
for the past 3 years.

Here is a thread on fake GP`s. interesting read.

Rock Auto is probably alright, I would be leary of E-Bay stuff and maybe Amazon also.

When you install them, be sure to slop some Anti-Seiz on the threads.
Even your Injectors if you replace them down the road.
