Glow Plug Question
Are the tips of new Motorcraft glow plugs “blued”? I purchased a set from Amazon and they arrived with blue/oxidized tips.
The glow plugs were also stamped “BERU GERMANY 42C 0 100 226 138 11V”. Does that seem correct?

Thays the correct stamping, but being from an online store it raises a brow, as are they real or fake? Post some pictures up so we can compare them to some real ones.

That is pretty close to what mine looked like in December of 2019 when I installed a set. Also, if you bought the GP's when they were sold and shipped by Amazon and not a third party seller, your chances of getting genuine GP's are excellent.

I would worry if you got a GP that wasn't tested. In other words, quality control smokes them blue before they are packaged, Kind of a go, no go type of thing,
Numbers look good as well as the plugs. Have confidence. My two sets were identical.

Did mine less than a week ago, they are identical to what I had, even the print looks the same - off memory.

Just curious, does any one have a picture of a fake GP?

I think GP’s hit 1800*F in 2 seconds. The discoloration is from testing.
For fun, use jumper cables to power up an old GP. Be aware I’ve seen some blow up - so use extreme caution if you try this.

Maybe? We usually measure between the body (threads) and the top where wire plugs in.

You shouldn't be touching the probe ends. You now become part of the circuit.

Bosch is the gold standard and we still see new parts that don't work right.
