Loose wires

Hi
Found another set of loose wires. Should I connect them? What are they for? 🤷‍♂️😂

What engine is this and what year? Do those connectors plug in? That looks like a yellow with green hash stripes wire. If it is what I think it is, that is your SPOUT connector.

Could this be related to poor idle? I have connected all vacuum hoses i could find and testes then for leaks and that helped a bit.

Seems like this should be connected so I will try later today 😅🦾🤷‍♂️

As mentioned, that connector is for the SPOUT (SPark OUT) signal. It must be connected in order for the ECM to control spark advance. The only reason it is ever disconnected is to set base timing. Base timing should be 10° BTDC.

Plugging it back in does change timing at idle.

This is what it should look like.

I'll also warn you, you might want to check the terminals on the coil connector. I chased intermittent issues until I replaced the corroded terminals last year.
