EBP Pigtail

Replacing the pigtail connector to my EBP sensor. Checked a few sources and the price for the Ford piece appears to be $70-80 each. Seems really high as the IPR/VGT pigtail looks almost the same and costs $20. Am I missing something here? Even ANWB lists it for $62/each.

Also does anyone have photos of the stock wiring to the EBP on a 05-07? Figured out my truck already has had the pigtail replaced but someone didn't route it properly and I think the wiring in the connector head is damage. I think they didn't trim the pigtail down and turned it 180-deg right out of the connector. Jiggling the wiring causes fluctuations in the EBP reading. Will post a photo of it when I pull it apart for the pigtail. Can't get a good photo without taking things apart.

Backstory to how I arrived at this conclusion:
Started getting a P0470 code for EBP sensor issues. Had replaced the sensor last year due to issues reading at altitude and at first thought my new sensor had failed. Started watching EBP & the VGT variables while driving around. Driving around it's hard to gauge the EBP, but it was definitely bouncing around even at stead state. At idle the PCM will modulate the VGT to maintain 2.4psi EBP. When cold the truck would do this no problem, but once warmed up the EBP was all over the place, usually on the low side. The VGT would usually end up sitting at 85% when idling for more than 30-seconds with an EBP fluctuating between 1.0 to 2.5psi. I moved the long wiring pigtail from below the coolant wye to above it, taking some strain off the connector and suddenly my EBP is very stable and the VGT is barely moving at idle, usually in the 65-70% range. Investigated further and realized my pigtail had already been replaced as it had bare wire loom not wrapped, and when I split open the loom I saw the butt splices.

Found the answer on the wire routing from one of the 6.0 Bible for the 2005 changes. The stock wiring takes the shorter path possible to the sensor.

Mine does a full 360-deg wrap-around the sensor before connecting. And it shoved under the Degas tank "wye" connector. :shakes head:

Just to close this out, improving the routing of the wiring seemed to fix the EBP readings however the pigtail was still way too long so I decided to replace it anyways. Accurate diesel had a $10 piece I decided I would try. Fits a little tighter than I’d like onto the ebp but at least I know it’s sealed up well. Wire colors didn’t match either but I was able to just match location from the old to the new.

I left some slack in the wiring. Made the splice right after the mounting post below the FICM.
