Just purchased a very decent 2001 F150 Screw. I just came upon a need to pull a trailer here in the next couple of days so I take a look at the setup at the back end of my "new" screw and find that there is no wiring there at all. I climb underneath and find that that the wiring has been severed clean about a foot to the rear of the main connector that is on the left rail under the box. (rear of the connector the wires run to the lights and also Y off to what should be the trailer wiring......... this is where mine has been chopped.)
Now can anybody point me towards a wiring schematic of the truck side of the trailer wiring?
or
Do I need to just test each wire with a volt/ohm meter to see what triggers each wire?
AND
Anything else I need to be ready for? Like relay's or fuses and locations of such to check them out? I've checked the one in the cab (under steering wheel)
If your talking about the "T" connector that the trailer wiring comes from, than you can go online and order a "T" connector that plugs right into the factory wiring harness. I believe this is probably what you are looking for. It's on etrailer.com. www.etrailer.com/pc-VWH~118242.htm Good Luck

Skinner24, that is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for the link. I had finally found the part number and called my local ford dealers but to no avail. So I got busy and just connected into the hacked off one, using some schematics that I had sent to me and all is now in happy land.
However, the link you sent is great and now bookmarked for any future needs. Would have been a whole lot easier!!
Not a problem. I found it after I had already hacked into my factory harness and added all the other wires to make it into a seven pin plug rather than a factory four pin. My 01 Screw didn't come with factory tow package. Oh well.
