mystery front clip part

Howdy all,

I'm finally getting back to working on my beloved 55 F-600

I've been re-familiarizing myself with the front clip parts in preparation of getting everything blasted and primed to start reassembly and I found this:

In the front clip, there's usually 2 of everything except the grill and front valence etc

I didn't find another (mirror image) of the above, and I am pretty sure I did not throw anything away and I may well find the other one if there is one.

What is this thing and where does it go?

Cheers,
\Rick\

That is the battery shield. It protects the battery from right front tire debris.

It bolts to the right cab mount.

I've learned to post first, look for and add the picture later.

(Not actually my intent, but the excuse seemed to fit here)

I LOVE THIS SITE!!!

You guys are awesome!

I probably won't be using it however. I'll probably build a completely enclosed box for the battery if it goes back in the same place, and it'll be an AGM type battery!
