Cruise night at nursing home

Wednesday night a week ago, there was a cruise at a local nursing home. The cars were parked at the various parking lots. Here's some pictures. Dennis

What a great Idea. In many of cases the residents of nursing homes don't get a lot of visitors, plus the cars and trucks are sure to bring up a lot of fond memories for them which = fun for all, and I think that is wonderful.

We have been cruising at nursing homes/senior centers around here for years. In fact we are doing one Tuesday evening. Many even feed you which is a plus. Many years ago we were at one in Medford and one woman comes up to my buddies car and says she lost her virginity in the back of one just like it!

That is a nice place to have a car show. I've got to think it would be an appreciative audience. You can only watch so many reruns of Matlock. Well done!

I love that 55 in the first picture. My dad is in a car club that does that all summer, the hit all the retirement homes that will have them. I have rolled up on my Harley a few times and the made me put it in the line up. I figure if they want to look they can. Many of the residents told me they had Harleys when they were young. Then I tell them about the truck and they seem to light up.

pintoplumber, great photos and visit! Thanks for sharing. Some nursing homes do not care about clothes and shoes, which their nurses wear, and it's not good at all. I've read a full article here, about nursing shoes and how they can help nurses stay tuned till the end of working day, and I gotta tell that if I would be in the direction of any hospital I would provide my nurses with those shoes.

That's a great get together Dennis! Our truck club here in North Central Iowa had one pre Covid, 2 years ago this fall. It turned out to be a rainy, soggy Sunday. Only about 10 trucks showed up, and a Ford Pinto which turned out to be wildly popular. But the residents and Aides who were able to come out had big smiles on their faces and Thanked us over and over again for visiting. Even though we didn't have sunshine that day, we saw it in the residents faces. It was a great time and I appreciate your post because it a reminder we should try to do it again.
