So I read and read and read some more spent 500 and threw a shift solenoid at it and still no 4th gear. It’s not flashing od light anymore and it feels like it hesitates at 2400rpm. Before I dump the trans and spend money on another one what else could be the issue? Tempted to change the speed sensors just for the halibut. Any info would be appreciated most of the guys I know say it’ll lose 3rd then it’s done but 4th is always there just need to find it.
also the tc locks when using od off and never when it’s on. Everything seems to operate properly just no top gear.
The first step is ALWAYS to read the codes. If you had done that first you would have saved $500.
Obviously if it had a code I wouldn’t be asking for knowledgeable help on a forum... I didn’t use a 15$ Amazon reader either mechanic hooked up a big n fancy snap on reader when it was flashing showed nothing. So any other tips?

You can read them yourself with Forscan. You can download it free at www.forscan.org. Their webpage shows how to select an OBDII adapter to plug into the truck. I bought mine from Amazon for less than $30. With this, you can read all of the codes. They are there. Without the codes all I can tell you is to keep changing parts and hope you get lucky before spending several thousand dollars.

The reader stores codes, so it’s KAM was dumping when the key was off cleaned and greased connections to ecm so far tested by unplugging glow plugs and its throwing codes and keeping them until cleared. So I bought the FORScan app and connector is that app able to run diagnostic tests and operating tests (shows a bunch of different stuff but blank until plugged in?), will I be able to see shift data, or is it plain Jane scan tool
