I've read that the deluxe heater has a set of controls below the dashboard to the right of the colomn. Can anyone post a photo of this for me please, I'd like to be able to turn the tap on from inside the cab .thanks
Under the dash the one on the right controls the heat valve. The one on the left goes to the fresh air on the heater box. The one above them is a combination switch and bowden cable that controls the 2 speed fan and the defroster valve. The cable for the heat valve goes thru a punched hole above the heat box.
Here's a fun tool I picked up for forming loops on the end of a Bowden cable. Handy if you need to shorten a cable and recreate the loop. And some cables came cut to fit and then you had to use something like this.
That's a neat tool. Not something you need everyday but if you need it, you need it. Did it come with different size posts?
But now that we know what it looks like we can make our own.

Reason: More words
What else would be different between the deluxe and standard heaters? I am guessing, besides the manual vs adjustable heater control valves, that the actual box would be different? Anything else?

Yes, it wouldn't be too tough to make your own. It's given me some ideas of how to accomplish some other things, too. The posts on each side of the pliers are different than each other. One is 5/32" diameter and the other is 3/16".
The pliers are not that uncommon but the turning tool and especially the instructions they give are worth their weight (doesn't weigh much).

The two cables operate a valve in the heater hose, and a flapper door in the heater box. The flapper door lets in outside air, or it doesn't. The manual box has a lever to open the flapper door. The heater hose valves are readily available. However, I think that you would need to get a deluxe heater box to upgrade. People who are putting Vintage Air products in would be discarding those, so you might find one.
Thanks for the photo I'll probably make this control .I bought a new heater box from broncograveyard, I had to swap out the 2 flaps because the controls were on the wrong side .other than that the box is identical to my original one.my original one had all the flaps in it but had no control for vent or tap
