The thump is fixed! I have a 1999 F-350 V-10 SRW 2WD with 83,260 miles that I've owned for almost 4 years. The thumping has been there for a while and I kinda got used to it. I finally narrowed it down to the drive shaft slip yolk after doing some research on this forum. I gathered all of the necessary items (universal joint strap kit and PTFE Driveshaft Slip Yoke Grease (XG8A) by Motorcraft®) The Motorcraft grease is sky blue in color which is the same color as the Teflon coating on the drive shaft splines. If anyone is going to do this service I highly recommend using the PTFE XG8A grease. It was only $11.99 at my local Ford dealer and worth every penny! My truck now drives like a new truck!
