My previous truck was a 1995 XLT. After it was stolen I replaced it with another 95 XLT but this one just seems more upscale. One example is the old truck only had lumbar on the drives side, this one has it on both sides. This truck also has power mirrors. Even though the old truck had aftermarket mirrors for towing there was not even a spot for the power mirror button.
My question is were there different levels of XLT? Or were just options available?
XLT gave you most desired bits. Past that you had to option for it. Dually is XLT and has bucket seats factory! 4.9 is XLT Lariat, peasant bench, no tach, manual trans like dually, power windows and locks, no tow package, no sway bars, etc. I wonder if Ford allocated them this way (aka internal orders shipped out) OR dealers ordered them this way. Some cost of options is comically low...tach on half ton is $59 in 1994.
I have a 1996 brochure at home. When back I can take some photos. Please note this is for F150, nothing heavier. So some options and such will be different per groups.
