Good morning, I’m looking at a new F250 xlt 6.2 at my local dealer. It’s got the xlt value package with center console, remote start, plow package and that’s pretty much it. I want to add the power mirrors to it and the upfitter switches. I’ve seen the thread about the upfitters, so my question is, can I add the power mirrors without too much hassle? Is it plug and play?
The mirrors already are power adjustable on that truck. Do you want to add the power scope mirrors? The swap is doable and mostly plug and play. There is some module programming that needs to be done. The swap has been accomplished before. The price is the real issue at nearly 2k for the parts.
It can be done but as you are seeing it's expensive. Additionally the powerscope gives you two functions. The first is power folding where the mirror will fold flat into the windows for storage. The second is the power extending for when pulling trailers. On XLT's the powerscope is an option but standard on a Lariat. Not only do you need to change the mirrors but you also need to change the control pad on the door since you need the additional two buttons.
Like you are thinking we passed and ended up doing an order out to get the exact truck we wanted.
I was trying to buy local and support local businesses but in the end I’m the one who is driving the truck and making the payments. I did find one about 50 miles away that has everything that I want. I’ll check it out this weekend. Or maybe I will holdout for a better deal since the new ones are coming out. If I can’t get a good deal, I will just order a 2020 and get exactly what I want, especially the 7.3.

Your dealer might be able to bring in for the same price.
I bet they will, and might even give you a better price. You can try just going to your dealer and having them do a search based on what you want. If they find that one or others, see what kind of pricing they will give you. I was offered a truck that would have come from 2 hours away, the pricing my local dealer offered was $1500 under invoice, better than what the dealer holding it had it advertised for. I never called the holding dealer to see what they would let it go for, ended up buying a different truck.
