That's what I thought at first, but I took it off and it only goes on one way. I'm getting a new tire under warranty next week, I'll inquire about getting something different while at the dealer.

That is the correct bracket for the 21s. And yes, it is centered on the truck. It can only go on one way, as you already mentioned. What makes it look off centered is the side plastic areas. The passenger side is smaller and the drivers side is wider…not sure why, haven’t looked behind.
The top just clips on too. Yes, seems flimsy, but it will always have air pushing at it and not pulling, so it will stay just fine.

That must be a DRW thing. Maybe intentionally wanting more air flow? You can view numerous SRW 21's and they have the higher mounted plate holder. A nearby dealer has two fresh 2021's, both with the higher plate holder, but also both SRW.

Not a DRW thing, it's a diesel thing, they require more cooling air flow for the dual cooling system and trans and engine oil coolers.

Not a bad theory but both 21's that I meantioned sitting at the dealer happen to be diesel. Maybe you misunderstood what I was saying. I was referring to the license plate holder being higher on every SRW that I can find in photos, and in person. That includes diesel. The OP has a DRW, and the gentleman above who posted his photo also has a DRW. Both having the lower mounted version of the plate mount.

Then they are just using a different or wrong bracket.

Different yes, wrong I don't think so. It was said earlier that the plate holder comes inside the trucks. That would be a lot of trucks being sent out with the "wrong" plate mount lol.....and for how many years. My 19 has the higher version. I plan to pay more attention to the DRW trucks, just to see if that in fact is the deciding factor.

Edit- I did a quick search (only looked at 1 page) of 2021 F-350 DRW diesel's for sale, out of the 8 that had a plate bracket, 5 were high mount, 3 were low. So it's not a 2021 thing, a DRW thing, or a diesel thing lol......after looking at more listings the majority of DRW(F-350) had what the OP has. I didn't find any SRW with that one though, none.

Not a wrong bracket as it came from Ford. Also, it can only attach one way as mentioned. There are 2 push in tabs on the bottom that push into the only 2 slots there. The top just clips to the top area. Cannot go on a different way. My 18 looked the same, but road higher and the tabs were spaced differently and could not be used on the 21. 18 was a drw 6.7 as well, but only a Lariat fwiw.
My 18 below. The plastic sides are the same size in 18 for some reason, but it does sit higher. Wonder what is behind them? Lol

That lower mount bracket is used on the F450 and up.More than likely the dealer just put the wrong one on your truck. I will eventually find one for my truck as that is a sweet spot for a light bar !!

An image search of 2021 F450s shows both high and low mount front plates ... but predominantly high by a margin of about 8 to 1.
