Replacement Clutch Fan

My A/C has been warm when at idle. Last week I had the system checked and orifice tube replaced, it will get down to 45 degrees vent temp when cruising but goes to 70 at stops and I do not hear the fan engaging at the lower speeds or idle, it does fine when the engine heats up.

I replaced the clutch fan on late 2019 with a Motorcraft YB632. Per Ford Customer Service because I bought it on Amazon it is not eligible for the 2 year warranty. Has anyone had any experience with the O'Reilly's, Advance or Auto Zone fan clutches? Just weighing purchase options.

I had an Autozone Duralast fan for 6 months before the truck was stolen. Didn't have any problems, but six months isn't much of a test period either. I got the clutch/water pump combo kit (part # MCK-1062). At $183.99 it was $100 cheaper than just the fan alone and has a lifetime warranty.

Pics of said fan clutch and more info here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...lutches-2.html

Also, the correct part number for the combo kit with the larger 05-07 water pump is MCK-1072.

I bought and installed this one from Advanced Auto in January of this year, 7000 miles ago. It's the snowplow version and it has worked well for me. I'm in hot south Texas. It does tend to roar (engage) more often at low speeds but I'm ok with that. It eventually backs off. It keeps my AC cooling at idle and keeps my coolant temps where they should be. I was having overheating problems. No more. So far so good.

What are your pressures at idle? Maybe the system is overfilled.
What is the fan speed at idle? Didle fan speed increase when the rpm is at 2k with truck stationary?
I'd do some diag before jumping in replacing parts.

IDK the pressures at idle.
Last year the compressor had to be replaced, crap was all in the orifice tube (pic below). It was replaced 3 times during the compressor replacement process. I had my guy checke it again a couple of weeks ago and he said it was not bad but he replaced it again, we discussed last year replacing it this year. Anyway he charged the system to specs and it has been colder under cruise and somewhat cooler at idle but not where I think it should be.

I will have to check the fan speed at 2K RPMs.

In 2011 the compressor was replaced under a Ford ESP plan, so this is the 2nd one in under 100,000 miles.

Very rarely have I had a compressor die, heck my 2000 Durango with 140K and 2005 Vibe with 280K on it both have the originals.

They may not have done a proper cleaning after the first one. My original has made it 205k.

Someone used that to strain spaghetti before you got it. Reminds me of a wormy dog.

Just because... I contacted the Amazon seller, says he will replace the fan clutch as soon as he gets a tracking number. Can't hurt. Worst that can happen is I don't get one and have to buy one. I asked him since Ford had a parts warranty for 2 years can he help me out?

I guess I know what I am doing this afternoon.

I'm assuming you've checked the wiring to the fan? What's the the FSS at idle? If the AC pressure switch engages it should be running over engine speed, usually 800-850rpm if fully locked up.
