Should I put a gasket above and below the heat shield spacer/gasket or not. Only reason I ask is that I seen a remark on a thread that someone had to put a gasket above and below the spacer because it had a vacuum leak. Or just use the spacer. Also, which is better to use for gas line for the heat issue, rubber or steel line? Thanks for all the help
Should I use a gasket above and below the spacer or just the spacer. I have seen where some use gaskets because the spacers don't seal and creates a vacuum leak and some just use spacer no problems. Also should I use metal or rubber gas line to help my heat issue?

I think you know the answer metal is always going to conduct more heat than "rubber" and more so in the engine bay than anywhere else so wherever possible eliminate the metal but there are places where it is impractical to do it in those places you don't have a choice. Make sure you chose a well engineered "rubber" anywhere in the engine bay and proper fittings to plumb it. There are plenty of barbed to AN fittings to plumb anything with a well engineered "rubber" line. If you have the money plumb in a liquid filled fuel pressure gauge right up front where you can see it so you never have to guess again if you have fuel getting to the carb.
