Is this a supercharged 460?

Guy said he had one for sale. Made sure to ask me about year of my truck (96) though this looks like it was in a pre efi engine

Sent me these pics

does this look familiar and would it work with my 96 efi.

Yeah....dude swears he has a full kit. I told him this pic is a Chevy engine and that even if it came with instructions that it would not be plug and play. I told him I was interested in an "original" setup.

He is asking 3k for the kit but as I'm thinking on it. I could probably build a turbo setup for 3k

What are your thoughts?

He also feels so sure about it. That he is willing to let me pay half now.. then install it and if im convinced and happy then send the rest of the money

Maybe he's got a set of brackets to mount the supercharger on either engine... Who knows. These things can be really effective with the right carburetor and camshaft.

But my engine is a 1996 efi. Its a uhaul box truck so its still obd1 which i guess means no maf "shrugs".

I'm not horribly familiar with these engines and am even more confused that my 96 is obd1 instead of obd2.....sigh

Brodix, according to their latest online catalogue, doesn't make heads(or anything else) for big block Fords. I imagine you could put the Paxton Supercharger on without much problem, but I think you would have to increase the size of your injectors if you stay with the EFI system. Also, a good system to monitor AFR in the beginning would be helpful. Finally, I doubt the bracket will fit on a 460 if it was made for a chevy, think you'd have to order a correct bracket from Paxton. A call to them would give you more to go on.

I never went through w/it. I was too concerned that the guy is in cali and me in the Midwest.

He wanted 3k and I just wasn't comfortable w/o everything laid out in a pic on the ground. Supposedly he builds engines and has 3 of these kits. But I'm doubtful about it as I'm sure he should have a pic of one installed. Plus I'm pretty sure those would sell like hot cakes
