2015 5.0 Code P0455
I have a 2015 F150 XL with a 5.0 and a little more than 382K on it. My CEL keeps lighting up and telling me Check Fuel Cap. My truck is the model that came with "no" fuel cap. Code P0455! Large leak detected. How do you check fuel cap if you don't have one? lol. After reading several posts about my possible problem I have replaced the purge valve last week and cleared the code. The light did go out, but my scanner, which is a Launch C Reader V+, tells me the code is still in the system and it failed to remove the code. The light hasn't come back on,"yet", but I am expecting it to soon. I have since purchased a new purge solenoid and have a new canister on order. It should be here tomorrow and I'm hoping to replace them this weekend. Is there anything else that I could be missing other than a kinked or plugged line somewhere?

The P0455 code means a large leak for which a loose gas cap is the usual suspect, but it doesn't mean it is definitely a loose gas cap. The easiest way to find a leak is to use a smoke machine because wherever you see the smoke, that's where the leak is.
