I have a 2008 super duty with 6.4, have a problem with the temp and oil sensor. Changed my radiator and replace the sensors in the mean time. And my check engine light is still on for both, don’t know what to do now. I know with the temp sensor my fan constantly runs and I burn more fuel. Any help???
What codes are you getting? Some codes say the reading from the sensor is bad, some codes say there is an electrical circuit issue. If a new sensor doesn't fix the problem, it usually means there is a fault in the wiring between the PCM and the sensor.
Pull the E connector at the pcm and measure resistance between pin 2 and ground. If less than 10k ohms the wiring to the oil temp sensor is damaged somewhere. For the ECT pull the E connector at pcm and check resistance between pin 2 and pin 67. If less than 5k ohms the circuit is open.
