E4od solenoid harness problems?
I've been having a hell of a time addressing some OBD codes on my 91 f-150 with the e4od.
I bought the truck sight unseen and while it started and ran and could get around the block, the transmission was shifting funny.
I got an OBD reader and saw some codes relating to a shift solenoid. Since I was flushing and filling the trans anyway I bought a reman solenoid block and replaced it. (Not as easy as i thought it would be...I broke the valve body gasket had to replace it. All the check ***** fell out all over my driveway and I replaced them as well. Big pain.)
After replacing the solenoid pack and filling with fluid I pulled codes again. This time I got 56 85 91 92 93 94 99, which seem like literally every code relating to electronics in the shift solenoid block.
Then I replaced the solenoid block wiring harness (which had a few melted wires) and the PCM (which had some leaking capacitors).
After all this, I am still getting the same 7 codes from above, all relating to the shift solenoid block.
The wiring harness was very difficult to get plugged in. Is it not seated all the way? Or is there something else that could cause all those codes?
If the harness isn't seated all the way it will set all seven of those codes.
