I just picked up my 2021 F350 Lariet CC and got on the freeway, 65mph when a noise similar to a faint horn or alarm started going off. I thought maybe from one of the safety features (lane departure or blind spot). I tried everything I could to figure where it was coming from with no luck, called dealer and the have no idea.
Took truck out next day with passenger and determined the noise is coming from passenger A Pillar. Took a look outside in that area and noticed the windshield gasket on the passenger side is not installed correctly. About a 1/2” of rubber is sticking out along the entire length of that side of the windshield creating a big wind flap and at highway speeds it vibrates against the A Pillar creating the noise I’m hearing. That’s what I think anyway. Any thoughts?
I'm guessing that yours doesn't fall under the windshield recall. I think it only extends to 21's built in January. Sucks to have to take a new truck in for a windshield replacement, but if it is a faulty seal then they will warranty it.
My 13 and my 19 both have windshield noise that sounds like a kazoo, it only happens when driving into a strong wind. The '13 did it more often that the '19. I never looked into it much because it doesn't happen very often but I've heard it's the gasket around the windshield.
I had the kazoo noise on my '11 and it got to the point where we couldn't talk or hear the radio. It was a remove-and-replace operation (using the same windshield) under warranty.
