windshield noise

When my truck gets above 55 mph I start to hear a crackling noise (like ice hitting the windshield) around the passenger side windshield-dash area. I took to the dealer ship and they refastened the seatbelt mount. I told them I did not think that was the problem because it only made the noise when the truck was going over 55.
Any way the next day after getting the truck back its making the same noise.
Nothing seems to be loose inside or outside of the truck. Any ideas?

my 05 does the same thing, and it got worse after I put the bugshield on. I think I read on here awhile back that maybe the noise was coming from the rubber trim along the top of the windshield.

If you want to verify that put duct tape over the suspected area and see if the noise goes away.

good answer jr also look at the bottom cowl mldg at the base of the glass in cold temps it has a tendency to make funny noises also there was no upper glass mldg as the truck came from the factory with the so called clean look

windshield noise

My 05 sounds like the windshield is about read to fall out when the temps get down to the single digits.

Use blue painters tape instead of duct tape. It will remove with out leaving any adhesive residue. If the problem is the trim (probably is) a little trim adhesive will do the trick.
