Does anybody know how to remove the white plastic piece that goes over the cup holders? It wiggles around, so it’s not screwed down, but I can’t see how it clips on there. The vinyl and foam was detached and starting to curl up all the way around and it came of easily.
Ya, looks stupid! Does it really take 12 points to hold that down? They should have spent as much thought in keeping the vinyl attached as this piece of plastic.
I've bought a couple ebay ones. They're not perfect but they look one hell of a lot better than that garbage OEM stuff once it starts swelling/pulling out from the retainer.
Mine is in good shape, just pulling up on the edges. It's definitely worth trying to reattach for the cost of no dollars. If it doesn't work or looks like crap, I'll go for the Ebay replacement.
So quick question. My center console piece is in good shape as well. Just some of the vinyl is starting to lift up around that white plastic piece. Is the vinyl piece glued in place or does it somehow snap into the white piece? Just wondered how you get that part off to get to the plastic piece?
I used the method in the vid several months ago. I do not remember where I got my replacement but it is ABS style not the foam rubber from ford. It took about 30 minutes for the entire job to replace the part. Looks good just a slight different color due to the sun and age fade not matching 100%.
