hey all. here is another p/s problem, lookin forward to hearing what yall think. 79 f150 on 78 4x4 frame w/351m, after sitting 18 years (starting and moving couple times a year) getting ready for the road after long and needed restoration. runs great but no p/s, installed new pump and lines this week but only replaced what fluid lost during install, some say flush some dont but either way no new p/s. jacked up and lock to lock many time still nothing. (not running then running) after doing that in pump is real foamy, with cap off fluid goes up an down im assuming thats normal? yrs ago probly had some trans fluid in system. had to use old cap- doesnt seem air tight, my question is lock to lock not running cap on or off and when running lock to lock cap on-off? #2 does it need a flush and best way to do it? #3 bleed or not or not to bleed, i already read many post and seems to be mixed coments but open to all suggestions or i may be missing something obviuos, thanx in advance pine
mornin, hey i got pump actually working, many turns and flushing, for a new pump its whining pretty bad (almost as bad as me) i figured maybe try some p/s additive, any thoughts?
i can try that but its not a belt squeeling as to more whining sound from pump, the sound like it is low on fluid. im going to flush a few more times and see if it does anything. theres old fluid in system that im trying to remove. i add new then run it then get my old turkey baster and remove mixed fluid, add more and again, gettin better but still whining
