Good morning Ford men and women! I have a 2019 F250 Diesel. I recently replaced my factory grill with an aftermarket RC grill. The fit seems perfect, but my hood is inordinately difficult to close and get full latch. After slamming hood down I get it to latch properly, but this morning I had it pop loose (luckily the hood safety latch saved it). I also noticed the hood being lower than it had been before, compared to body lines before with factory grill. I realize the grill does not have anything to do with hood latch mechanism, but I am thinking the latch should be adjusted up slightly to accommodate the increased thickness of grill?
How can I adjust this latch upward to get it to close properly again. I see the two bolts holding the latch on the pillar, but I am not sure those bolt holes have any slack whatsoever? I believe it needs at least 1/8 inch adjustment upwards to make my hood sit flat with the body lines.
**Update - adjusted hood latch mechanism and closes as it should now.
