Dealer says he has no clue when it'll come in, and that the "order" isn't really "concrete", but it's in there.
The truck will be replacing a 2018 Focus Hatchback that I literally use like a small truck.
Back seats have been folded down since day of purchase and piled full of parts/supplies and tools.
I even have a Cat1 receiver hitch on it to pull a light weight 5x8 trailer.
I do a lot of traveling for work, so MPG is a very important factor.
I believe the Maverick is gonna be the perfect vehicle for what I do.
It seems there is very little spread between MSRP and invoice prices on the Maverick. I am hearing stories (in other online forums) of some Ford dealers offering 3 or 4% under invoice for those who order now.

I saw dealer invoice for my order.
Best I remember it was a $600 difference.
Well, I did it, or at least took the first step. I pushed the button to “Reserve” a Maverick. XL, with the 2.0L and the 4k tow package. $23,320. Now I’m going to have to get with a dealer for the next step.
I will insist on 3 things.
1) Invoice price
2) No add-ons (nitrogen filled tires, etc)
3) No money in advance
From what I have been reading, Ford is not pre-allocating the Mavericks to dealers. Each dealer gets one and one only. The rest are reserved for customer preorders. It seems to me the dealers will want, even need, customers to preorder. A certain percentage will not actually buy, and that is the best outcome for the dealer, as they will then have units on the showroom floor.
I was thinking about this last night, and it occurred to me that dishonest dealers would have a lot of incentive to go back on their word. Promise you a great deal, and then renege when the car actually shows up. Which is why I added in point number 3, no money in advance. If I don’t have any money on the line, then I cannot lose anything more than a little of my time.
Worth the gamble, at least in my mind. Once I actually get close to one, I may hate the thing, who knows? But this is the only way I will get the chance to buy one if I do like it.
I would think if you put $100 you could lock your deal in. If you put nothing down, they might change the deal so you do back out...
BTW, That would explain the other posting by a dealer willing to take your order and ship the truck to you for free (or up to $1,000) if the dealers only get 1 truck + the preoorders.
Nice. I wonder how long it will take to get in. I'm taking my F150 to the dealership tomorrow to see what kind of deal I can get. they've been emailing and calling for weeks about wanting to "buy out my lease". I said I would be interested in getting into a maverick so they said to bring it in. the downside is even if they give me exactly what i need or want for my truck I will have to wait until the truck comes in. no telling when that will be. He said sometime in the fall. I said October? he said maybe, who knows.
My son has had a hybrid XLT on order for weeks. No move. Seems hybrids aren’t available to build. No orders being pulled. He changed to the 2.0L because of the highway driving he will do, and deciding on AWD. Dealer thinks it could be pulled this week or next for an October delivery.
If his truck hasn’t been schedule by now, it will likely be December at the earliest. This week and next week they are scheduling 10/18 and 10/25 builds. There is a commodity constraint on the bed covers. 0% getting built from what I can remember reading.

He changed the order from the stagnant Hybrid to the 2.0L recently to avoid the hybrid delay. It’s been in since since July 20th.
What is the best priority code?
I can’t believe bed covers will hold it up. It’s an accessory. Ship them when ready. Send cover later.
