Went to the junkyard today to get one of those Ford Taurus drop down brackets for the fuse box on the 56. I know it's not our ole trucks but I couldn't resist taking a picture of this ole Ranchero.
I'm sure it'll be crushed soon. Space is valuable at junkyards. But, I think they hold on to stuff like this for a while for the cool factor of it all.

No Donald it was pretty much picked over. It did have a V-8 but someone had pulled the heads and the piston tops had seen water. Would really be a kool ole truck if it weren't so far gone.

One thing I have learned with FOMOCO over the years is a lot of fasteners are the same. I always check visor and other trim fasteners
Would the doors and front sheet metal be the same as another car and possibly been salvaged for a restoration or just ranchero specific and hope fully went to restore a ranchero .
I think you are right. Ford was a little random flipping from Falcon to Galaxie to Torino. Was it only three and did it actually use a Galaxie chassis? For the El Camino obviously Chevelle/Malibu platform for most of the run. Was the 59-63 Elc an Impala knock off. Can I ask a Chevy question without getting demerits here? I should know the answer. I owned about six Elcs back in my Chevy phase but they are all '68 or newer.

Front sheet metal 60-65 was Falcon. Doors are Ranchero specific due to the long rectangular window frame.
