Allows for a tire size upgrade (ground clearance and better ability off pavement)
if you do a decent level kit with upgraded shocks you’re ride will improve (factory is insanely bad on anything but a perfectly paved road)
can increase suspension travel for more off pavement compliance (again, at least on my 21 the suspension travel is non existent and you can tell over a bump of any size)
there’s reasons to level and there’s also a solution to achieve the better off pavement ride while keeping the trucks ability towing/hauling with airbags.
we’re not talking about a 12” lift and 40+” tires that kill the capabilities of a truck. But whether you believe it or not there are level kit options out there that improve the offroad ride and keep the towing capabilities…..all the while looking much better than your truck to boot lol.
Oh, I understand all the reasons we tell ourselves why. Right now, I am sitting in an RV park in Nevada exploring the Silver State ORV trail system, truck sitting in the RV park while I drive my Polaris RZR on the ORV trails. So far, everything I have done and seen, a semi skilled driver with any off road skills at all could follow right along in a Crown Vic, but certainly not LOOK as cool as we do in our RZR’s.
A litttle story here. Many years ago I was out one fine spring day exploring the Black Hills on the Wyoming side in a 2WD F-100. I came up on a couple guys in a 4WD that were stuck in a deep snow drift. I asked them if I could help. First thing they did was get pissed because I got to where they were in a 2WD pickup. The second thing they did was refuse any help from a 2WD pickup, so I turned around and left them there shovling their rig out. Moral of the story is that we tell our selves we are improving things and making them better, but are we really doing that, or just justifying the expense in our own minds as to why we “need” to do the so called upgrades.
But, as stated, it is not my money people are spending to do the things they do, so I don’t care. I have done “upgrades” to suspensions in the past on various vehicles and was mainly disappointed in the actual performance after the so called upgrade when I was 100% honest with myself.
But. To each their own. I am out.
100% for LOOKS. So yer so called truck LOOKS like the old dawg when she squats to pee! Folks that use their trucks for truck stuff generally leave them as factory. But, their $$$$$$$$$$ so they can do what ever the fad may be. Hell at one time the fad was to have your go fast car jacked up un the back with big meats for rear tires. At one time the fad was to lower the rear on cars and puit a big azz tail draggin’ continental kit on it. I.E. While they think they are making something “their own” they make it look just like all the rest of the sheeple. They think they are being different while doing the same thing the rest of the herd does.
Leveling is for looks. So what? Most owners leave their truck stock. Leaving your truck stock makes you the biggest sheeple out there. You are following the largest herd.

Wow. Good to know you have such deep insight into all of the truck owners in America. I assure you I have the money I spend for the things I want, I do my mods for me and no one else and I could care less what you or anyone else thinks about my truck. It's MY truck. I use my truck for "truck stuff" - I tow with my truck, I off-road with my truck, I haul heavy things with my truck, I go grocery shopping with my truck. It's my daily driver.

You sure seem to think a lot about what you believe other people think and why they modify their truck. Isn't that tiring? The F-series pickups are the best selling vehicle in the USA and Canada - and have been for years. Doesn't that make them more than a "fad"? How many people drop $50K+ for a "fad"? I bought my first truck in 1980 - a POS 1970 Datsun 521 pickup that was so rusted it probably weighed 40% less than when it was new. But it was mine and I put off road tires on it, added a cassette player and used bucket seats. I drove that thing in high school and all through college. For my daily driver I've owned nothing but pickup trucks since that Datsun. I do have a sport tourer motorcycle and a garage queen Z06 but trucks have always been my daily drivers and I've modified every one of them to suit my taste.
You seem very angry. Ice cream - you need ice cream.
I don't care what anyone does to their trucks, enjoy them.
BUT I do gotta laugh when I hear members touting offroad prowess of the Superduty. Lol
You won't catch these giant trucks on any of the miles and miles of trails we have here as the wheel base is to long, no turning radius, bad weight distribution and rough ride.
If offroad is a priority, probably should have bought a Raptor or better yet, a Wrangler Rubicon.

why laugh?
What if I’m not trying to go driving over big rocks but just need to get down utility service roads or mild stuff but also need to tow 10,000lbs safely?
your short wheelbase jeep won’t cut it will it? It’s a very one dimensional vehicle. Problem is that jeeps terrible for everything except parking on a rock whereas a properly setup super duty could get me offroad where I do happen to go and still tow well.
I’ve seen super duties with minor suspension changes be decent offroad and still tow….so what’s the problem with that?

Better to have both......my truck is a dedicated tow vehicle and work around the farm.
I leveled my 21' Tremor for a couple of reasons. I used the complete Carli 2.5 Ft Level kit. First is, I prefer the level, even look. Second, and the biggest reason is, the ride quality. My Tremor now rides and handles better than any 3/4 truck I've ever owned. If my Trailers Tongue Weight does sag the rear below level, Air Bags are a simple solution. I already have On-Board Air.

I'll go right thru that puddle with my lifted crew cab, long bed.
Used to think leveling was stupid..... didn't have enough clearance on my 5th and dropping the rear was the cheapest solution....
love my "level" now and don't care about looks
Rides better empty. Bump steer eliminated. No problem hauling. I am 6-3 and can touch the bed floor easy now. When I put a beer on the bed rails it's perfectly level.
Some people on this forum get mad when someone can afford a Platinum truck because all they really need is roll up windows….blah blah blah
I say everyone should buy what they want and then do with it whatever they want. It’s more interesting that way instead of all of us driving white body XL fleet trucks with 33” oem tires.
if you want to “Carolina squat” your super duty have at it. Even though I won’t do it to mine I don’t mind anyone making the truck theirs and fitting their personal taste.
Ive always liked making changes to my vehicles since I was a teenager. Add my personality to the truck, if you will.
My current truck is a bone stock ‘21 Lariat with the sport/blackout package and while I love the way this thing looks I’m planning on a 2 level with 1.5” higher rear blocks. So really I’m only removing about .5” of rake from what came factory. But I want a bit more ride height so when it’s tire time I can go a bit bigger….and it’ll look great and still perform within the limits of what I need it to do.
Im not going to go crazy with it but a sublet ride height and tire size increase is simply what I want to do. For those that can’t afford to modify/don’t want to modify/can’t modify because they push their trucks to the limit even before reducing any of its capability…..I respect that and don’t really have any strong feelings about it because choices are what make the world go ‘round.
Those who get mad about other people’s vehicle mods make me laugh. They’re the same ones who flip out over that Wistlin Diesel guy on YouTube lol.
