Close but no cigar in what way? I get most of my bolts at my local ACE, they have an incredible selection of nut, bolts, springs, clips, etc. And they have an apparatus set up that I can insert bolt and determine its size and thread count.
The factory bolt I am missing has the forged on flange washer aka flanged head bolt. ( Thank you FordTruckNoob! )
The one I bought today has a smaller diameter washer than the flange.
The new bolt's washer is rotatable but not removable. Which is ok, but it is not welded solid.
Hey guys, it's been a while. I'm having a weird ac problem. My ac works fine at low speeds,45 and under. When I get up to highway speed it will go warm. I put some coolant in and the gauge reads good. Y'all think the clutch is going out? High pressure switch? This is the first time in ten years it has acted up. Input appreciated.
it can be several things. The first thing is to be sure the fan clutch and air flow through the radiator is good. Next thing, replace both high and low pressure switches, one of them is bad and shutting the system down at higher rpms. Put a set of gauges on it, run them up and lay them on the windshield and drive it until the problem occurs. Have someone video what the gauges are doing when it stops cooling. My bet is its under charged due to low airflow at low speeds, and then when you get up some speed and cool it off, the low and high pressure drops and the low pressure switch kills the compressor. Fixed a hundred doing that.. blow the radiator, air to air, and condenser out by taking them off the truck. Trust me, they are full of crap.. As for the fan clutch. Take a roll of papertowels and while idling at a normal temperature, if you can apply gentle pressure to the fan blade for 20 seconds, and stop it, the clutch is bad.. this also applies to the electric clutches on the 6.0 diesel. But you want to unplug the clutch before doing this test.. good luck..
