Mine maybe rides a hair higher than yours, could just be a difference in the angle they were taken. Some of that movie magic you know. I've always thought it was more in the distance the bar ran from the headlight that caused the obstruction.
Distance from headlight housing to the bar on my grille guard is about the same as your full bumper.
Perhaps the angle at which I took the pictures is skewing the comparison. I tried to be dead on in front of the bulb, but could have been off a bit.
I've got a custom bumper being made for the rear of my wife's F150. A guy in Nebraska. He takes a while, but maybe that's because mine is one he hasn't done before. He will do whatever you want. Have to get it powder coated yourself though. I'll be in about $1100 before powder coat.
Still working on quotes for the insurance company, Wife goes in tomorrow for knee replacement surgery so i will be busy taking care of her till she gets back to her normal activities!
but i am pretty much settled on these , rear may have to wait a bit but may order the front this week while on caregiving patrol!
I do wonder if the OEM tow rings will still be useful , they kinda of looked blocked by the bottom bar?

Ouch. I wish her a speedy recovery. Tell her to be diligent about post-surgery exercises. My dad got lazy and he can't straighten his leg now.

Having worked at a large rehab facility and dealing with these types of recovery, 100% agree with FTN. Regardless of how stupid and insignificant the exercises occupational therapy and physical therapy will have her do, they absolutely work and make a HUGE difference in recovery time and longevity of the fix. Actually doing the exercises prescribed and as often as they are prescribed is vital. Praying for full recovery!
Sorry to hear about that! we have already had the argument about how she will get off her *** and walk! the therapy will be followed diligently!
You will be key in the motivation part of her physical therapy. Let her know that "all of your weirdo internet people are hoping for a quick recovery".
As for the bumper, it appears the factory tow hooks are replaced by the bumper tow hooks. Go with your gut feeling sir!
I love the look of the bullnose ranch hands like this. To me, they look better than the newer squared off styles on these older trucks. That’s the exact one I’ll be putting on my dually at some point!
Ranch hand for me. Just got stuck on the hill at the dump the other day grossing over 26k and got drug up the hill by a loader with strap hooked to the bumper. No problem
I built my own bumper for my Escalade. I got tired of bouncing wildlife off it and needing to replace it, 3 times inside of 2 years. There is nothing on the market for a tough replacement so I did it myself. I incorporated a 55" light bar in the build. Starting from scratch, you can build it any way you want it. Include anything you want into it. I will be building myself one for my truck, but not until I get the replacement bed figured out so I can make it match. I would be happy to build you, or anyone else on this site, a custom bumper. Biggest problem is I can't do anything until September. But, as long as we have the same platform, you wouldn't be out your truck during the build like other places, I can use my truck as template.
My son has a MOVE bumper on his Duramax. I am very unimpressed with the build quality. It is a stout bumper, but the finish work on it is terrible.
This is about 90% done. It has more rows underneath and around the ends. It'll get finish paint if my son ever gets the trans fixed. This is what the Powerstroke replaced when the trans died. It would have gotten more pod lights and clevis loops had it survived.
I feel like the typical Ranch Hand is pretty weak compared to other options. It generally weighs a lot less though and that has advantages. It’s more significant and has better coverage than a stock bumper, but won’t survive an impact with anything significant. Mine wrinkled like a beer can on impact with a 4” diameter tree.
The Advanced Mfg ‘Mighty Mo’ I replaced it with totaled an Explorer that decided to run into it at 25mph and only knocked some of the powder coating off. It would have laughed at the tree that destroyed the RH.
Here’s the RH that was destroyed. Those are aircraft landing lights for those who my recognize them. They were literally too bright and made reflection from road signs hurt my eyes. I hated it for people who refused to dim their bright lights. I added the hitch receiver.
Current situation. This is made from heavier wall 3x5? box steel and is literally like a tank. That ‘07 front clip is from ‘07 and is showing its age!!
