Have a 1951 f3 and was wondering if anyone could give me advice on where to start with correcting a shifting problem? Finding gears is little rough and downshifting is out of the question have to come to complete stop to hit 1st gear again any help would be appreciated thanks in advance!
The shifter moves on a steel pin on the side of the shift tower. Mine was very worn, looked like a coke bottle. Since the hole it rides in was also worn, I opened up the hole and slot in the shifter and made a slightly larger pin from a steel rod. Much easier to find the gears.
