passenger window only working from driver's switch
The passenger window works fine from the driver's controls, but NOT AT ALL from the passenger switch. The other windows are fine so I believe it's not an issue with the window lockout. (it's not engaged, btw).
I read that other people have replaced the switch but that didn't fix the issue.
Has anyone successfully fixed this?
This may be way off, but my 2019 F350 Lariat had a similar, if exactly opposite problem - driver's door controls would not close passenger window, but passenger door controls could.
Turns out the LED tail/brake-light replacement globes were causing (contributing) to the problem. After replacing the stock bulbs, glitches started happening with all sorts of systems (like a little over a week later). I noticed it on the window controls first. But, then when I pressed the brake and released it, sometimes the problem would go away. If I pressed and held the brake for a couple of seconds while starting the problem would mostly disappear. I replaced the LED's with filament globes and all problems stopped - I wanted to take the vehicle to the dealer to troubleshoot and was worried about non-stock.
I'm not sure if there is some element of the tail/brake-light bulbs that sit on the LIN bus. I'm fairly sure the window buttons sit on it, along with the stock inverter. LIN errors are typically not reported to the user (my replacement inverter generates a DTC because it is not connected to the LIN bus, but this is only seen on FORScan). I doubt that the tail/brake-lights' operational function (on-off) sits on the LIN (possibly on the CAN MS or probably on the CAN HS because of safety), but perhaps the tail/brake-light out signal is reported on LIN and causes a bus overload leading to spurious transmission of the window button message - lower priority than the brake light bulb failure message.
I would say start easy and see if one of the rear switches would fit in the passenger side to test it. If it don't work the main controls all start from the drivers side control module. If you have a multi meter you could also test the switch itself.
I though about that, but the rears are 'temp' switches and the fronts are 'one touch'.
I may still try it though.
If you have a meter to test the pins for voltage would be just as easy. If the voltage is there and the switch don't work pretty much tells ya it is the switch.
I also think the one touch setting is on the drivers side control not in the switch itself. I just looked at Tasca Parts
I may just buy a switch and see if it works. I doubt my wile will let me tear in to her new expedition to use hers.
But I think there IS a difference between the front and rear switches. The front switches have a 'two-step' up AND down. meaning you can feel the switch click twice. The first click is for manual adjustment and the second is for auto up/down.
I don't believe the rears are this way.
Thanks a ton for looking that up for me. I greatly appreciate your help.
I don’t think these switches are simple switches any more, I think since everything operates on the control buss that the switches aren’t just closing a contact, so can be swapped, but are instead sending a coded signal that the is then recognized as a command by the motor to open and close the window. If you swapped another switch And it would plug in I think it might still open it’s designated window, ie the rear door switch plugged in on the front door would still open the rear door window.

The two rear switches have the same part number so I don't think they would act like what you are saying. I think the brains for the windows are on the drivers side control.
I guess one of use will have to take their doors apart to see. I vote for you(-;
