Yep I broke off my radiator overflow nipple while changing out my serpentine belt. I don't want to replace my radiator over this if at all possible. The repair has to be able to hold the psi of the system while hot. I bought a Doorman nipple repair kit but it's design is for having a radiator with a capped filler neck...which my radiator is not setup that way. If anyone has fixed something like this with good results I would be super grateful!!!
I've though of tapping the plastic hole and inserting a threaded brass fitting with barbed end but don't think it would really hold long term. JB Plastic Weld???
Good Morning
First time posting here I have a F250 6.0 that went into the shop to have the AC replaced the AC Tech broke the small nipple next to the larger top coolant hose from what I read easy break. Problem is that he the AC guy didnt tell me he had broke it and repaired with JB weld. Of course with a new AC we took it on a road trip and it leaked causing my truck to Over heat. In 3 years it never leaked a drop so I didnt figure I needed to keep such a close eye on it. Is this a typical scenario that the coolant would leak out? I had to ask the Tech if they had broke it and they admitted it Said thats the way they always fix this break OMG how many others have they broke?? anyways working with his insurance now Because it caused my EGR to fail hopefully nothing else is messed up. I will be asking for a new radiator as well since drilling it out is not a real fix but a better band aid than the JB weld
