Last week a friend stopped by and helped me take the stakebed off so I could paint the back of the cab. We had a few days of rain so I was delayed, but finally I have it painted. There are a few flaws that will need touch up but I’m happy with the color choice. The back of the cab is dented and dinged, but I figure she earned it so I only did some minor dent repair, and mostly where it will be exposed.
Here she is...next week...some touch ups and replacing the bed.
I also picked up some rear fenders, I think they’ll look nice painted silver.
Nice job!! It’s looking a lot different than it did last year! I like the way you sectioned off those back window lines.
Runs a lot better too.
I like the back window panel so after much debate, I decided i wanted it bright and shiny. I think the silver does the job. I plan to do the fenders in the same color. I’m working through how I’m going to mount the rear fenders now. The front will get done when I pull the front clip to do the exhaust and several other things.
I’ll be putting the bed back on next week after some buffing. I already painted the exposed frame with POR15, lubed everything in the rear end, and changed the diff oil.
Great lookin Black...hard to paint black..good job.
Black? The only thing black is the frame. The cab is green and silver. The color discrepancy is due to the wet sanding I did on the door, once it’s buffed it will all match (hopefully, it all came from the same can).
With the help of a few friends yesterday, I have the bed back on. Today I managed to mount one of the rear fenders. I still need to cut some spacers but I think they’re gonna look pretty good. I plan to paint them silver.
