Another p1249 thread....
Over the weekend I was towing my large enclosed trailer with a side by side and camping gear in it. On my way home I was pulling a good grade and noticed a check engine light had popped on. As soon as I could I pulled over and checked the code on my insight monitor. It was the p1249, never had it on this truck before and wasn’t too concerned when I saw it. So I cleared the code and kept on going. I quickly realized something wasn’t quite right. My boost numbers were down and the truck felt sluggish. The truck had to work damn hard from a start to get up to speed. Thankfully I only had one more big grade to worry about and I managed to get up it well enough, but with significantly less boost than usual. The rest of the trip home was slow going and the truck was clearly struggling.
The truck is an 03, with intake, exhaust, frx, & one of 1023’s tow tunes. The red tube is disconnected and plugged.
Once I got home and unloaded everything I put the truck back in my dd tune and went for a small cruze. The truck felt fine, but I never did give it the whole throttle to check if my boost was back to what it should have been. I’m planning on doing that today.
I’m curious what I can do to keep this from happening again. A new turbo is in the works anyway, but I’ve got more trips planned pulling this trailer before that happens. Any insight would be appreciated.
Yes the solenoid is still plugged in. Thanks for the link, ill dive into that.
Strip of 470ohm resistors. Lab Assistant for scale.
