Hey guys, time to start assembling my exhaust system. As fa as headers are concerned, I’d like to go with long tube for the extra torque, but, not sure if that’s going to work. Been poking around, but, haven’t seen anything on 4x4 headers. So, any info you guys might have would be great! Oh, this is for a 351Windsor that I’m installing out of an 89 F-250.
Good answer. I had a 351w in a 66. The stock manifolds were seriously a no go on the driver side. Long tube headers with clutch linkage was not an option. I wound up with a set of block huggers and some creative plumbing.
To be honest it took two sets of headers. Driver side are block hugger and the pass side are engine swap. On the pass side the flange hit the starter with block hugger. So I either had to buy a mini starter or try the engine swap set. Said and done less than $300 for both sets. It was more than that to get the exhaust routed to them.
I thought the passenger side looked like they were different that block huggers. I'm sure this will be a PITA no matter how I go about it. Thanks for the info, though!
