Okay guys, time to knock it off. You're both implying that I'm wrong. This has never happened before and I can't be held responsible for any consequences, such as the earth lurching from its axis or other similar calamities.
It was a shadow. The hose is fine. I pulled the hammer out, cut the handle off, ground it smooth, and reinstalled the hammer backwards (with the head toward the outside). Nice and clean now. I can live it. Thanks for the help!
