Original sticker was $79,200. Paid around $68k in early 2019 and was like $72 out the door, had like $4500 in aftermarket.
They gave me $75k with 20k miles on it and the car was a good deal only had 17k miles on it. Had to do a nation wide search to find one in my price range with low miles. Bonus is 3 years unlimited miles Factory CPO warranty as well, the truck only had 16k miles 10 month left. They quit making this particular car in 2020 (and a handful of limited edition 21s) and they are hard to find.
Anyway, someone is going to get a really nice special ordered truck, almost cried driving off that color combo is so unique and wasn’t available long (marsala and magma red).
The major downside is I will probably have a taxable gain on the whole $75k but offset it some with an older F250 I bought out of pocket. The dealer should get around $80k for the truck.
I am running it down the blue ridge parkway and surrounding area on the way home. I assure you this car is getting a workout the original owner never did.
The connectivity and user friendliness of the F250 is actually better. Leather is only a couple steps down in quality. But damn when I say quality I say they didnt miss ANYTHING with carbon fiber (has necessary carbon fiber package option), alcantera, leather, or brushed aluminum, and crazy azz ambient lighting. Double thick glass everything, nuts what they put into these and thats why I got one.
I probably will order another F250 just wont be a nice one...
Sweet. I'm a German car guy and have been for a long time. The interior quality are is much better in the European cars that they're nearly incomparable to Fords.
I had a 2020 King Ranch, but the leather was awful. Like a Walmart sofa. I traded it for a 2021 Platinum (Dark Marsala, too). When my wife got in the new Platinum, she asked, "How much do we have to spend to get real leather?" It feels like a Target sofa. The G55 parked next to it has leather that is still soft, smooth, and tight. Her Macan Turbo has $58k in options, $30k of them being leather options. Leather-wrapped seat switches and such.
What Ford has accomplishes with their interior budget is shameful.
I dont know man... the steering wheel material is about the same as in the platinum (except the alcantera side bolsters) which kinda surprised me and the leather seats are pretty good in the platinum. Try conditioning it a few times.
I am ordering a G63 2023 (waiting list) and I think it would have been a step down from the F250 overall but they really charge for the high end fluff. They need to release some different exterior colors or I will wait for the next refresh probably.
Ford's (as well as most US and JP manufacturers') leather has a polymer coating on it for stain resistance, so conditioner shouldn't actually penetrate the leather. European cars tend to have uncoated leathers, hence they're easier to scratch and stain, but they feel different (better in my opinion).
I haven't driven a new G. Haven't even been in one. Before the G55, I had a newer E63 wagon with the M157. It was amazing, but I kept waxing nostalgic about the G500 I had about a decade ago, so the wagon left and I found a 2011, which was the last year of the M113K. It's a great truck, but the attributes I love were 'corrected' in the new ones. The interior got all disco, and they took away the solid front axle. I'm a bit of a Luddite and enjoy the simple old cluster, distracting navigation display down by my knee, unusable cupholders, and the way I have to accelerate through corners to prevent massive understeer.
It's kinda like the F350. Obnoxiously heavy, body-on-frame, solid axles, two-speed transfer case, steering gearbox, and fun to drive. They look different, but they've more in common than most would think.
Yeah I agree on the G. I have a connection to get on the wait list (crazy) and told them I want the first 23 they are allotted.
Maybe i will keep an eye out for an old one.
On this S63 it’s something i always wanted. Didn’t realize how rare they are to find and they quit making them. A lot of people drive the S coupes daily.
Mercedes built you a cocoon of silence, opulence, and speed. It's a gorgeous car and the only ones rarer have four more cylinders. I hope you drive it daily. Congrats!
Certainly the the Mercedes is very nice.
But I wouldn’t trade my new F250 for two of them.
I’m an old guy with a blue collar and a red neck.
Enjoy the new car.
The wife and I are at a 5-star resort (Greenbriar) and have been astonished to see so many new Superduty trucks in amongst, Jaguar, Ferrari, Porsche, etc.
Several comments on the truck also. Lol
This is indeed a crazy market and can't blame anyone for reaping the benefits.
I've had the dealership offer a lucrative buy back but can't go a week without a truck.
No shame. I owned a classic S-Class Mercedes. There is nothing like it...... The king of trucks to the king of cars! Thank you for not lowering your standards.....
Congrats. Beautiful ride.
I might be in the super minority, but I haven’t owned a car in 30 years. Lots of them I would love to own like your Benz or a convertible..
But.... when the meniscus in your knees go, low entry vehicles become a bitch..LOL.
